I thought it was about time we got a January one going... especially now that I've had a scan and found that I'm due on 14 Jan instead of 3 Jan oh well...

So, who else is due in January?

Bingo is due 7 Jan and I have been lurking in the December section for a while too chicken to start a January one, so I will join in now.
I have to get my a*** into gear and book my scan sometime in the next week or so, life just keeps getting in the way at the moment and pregnant brain keeps striking so I completely forget each day that there was something i was meant to do
bingo has been moving around for a week or two now but I thought I could feel him as early as 13 weeks at my last scan but was told not to be silly it was only wind!!! But it feels exactly the same now just more definite so i stand by my instincts.
sorry to hear your set back Busymum, I am on a tight shedule as my parents go back to the UK on 21st jan so a setback like that will be a disaster!! They are here for 3 months so not sure they will want to extend if I don't come up with the goods on time!!

Hi there, have just discovered this site. I normally frequent the everybody.co.nz site andchat with other MTB Jan ladies there but will prob pop in here from time to time after finding this.
I am due on 10th Jan 2007 after 2 harrowing IVF with ICSI experiences. Thrilled to finally be pregnant... nearly half way there even (1 more week til the 20 mark!)

LOL that ticker is hilarious Sarah! Anyone had their 20 week scan yet? I tried to, that's when I found out I was only 17 weeks lol, but Baby was sitting too far down to see so I'm glad for the second chance

I'll be 19 weeks on Monday, and have my midwife appointment then, so the countdown begins again Although this time I'm a little distracted as we are making final plans towards moving house this year ie before Baby comes.... busy busy!

Right sorted out my memory and remembered to book my scan for 4 th sep which will make me 22 weeks. So i guess we are on count down for that too. After being adamant that we want to find out the sex, Neil is now wavering and wants to know pros and cons.
Is any one else having trouble with back ache yet, any suggestions to help I can't face the thought of another 20 weeks like this and I know I have a long way to go yet. I am trying a Swiss ball for desk work, but it is at night I g=find it worst

Cherie, hope you keep well for the rest of the pregnancy! Your body has enough work to do

Bedrock - have you tried making a nest of pillows? Sorry that's about all I can suggest, or maybe soaking in a bath before bed?

*lurk* Redbedrock - you could try a heat pack for your back at night - like a wheat bag. I've been using the elastoplast heat pads and they're great. They stay warm for eight hours so they last the night. A belly bra could also give you support during the day? If you have a desk related job, get on to your companies OSH person to have an assessment done as well - they can ensure that your workstation is suitable and give everyone the heads up on being nice to your back. Good luck!

Thanks Maree
My work is a mixture of driving a desk and clinical work, I am a nurse, I am sure the back pain is from changing posture and my centre of gravity shifting, but Neil is already complaining about how much bed I take up at night with all my extra pillows etc, so I am a bit nervous about what is going to happen from here as this will only get worse. I am seeing my personal trainer about exercises to support my abdomen too, but I hadn;t thought about a belly bra so early on, I might look into that over the weekeknd. Thanks, will stop whinging now, thank you for ideas from everyone

Hi Redbedrock,

I know what you mean re back pain. I have had back pain on/off now for the last couple of months. I got a referral from my midwive to see physios for my back pain so hopefully that will be some relief. The other thing I could suggest is using heat pack when you are sitting at your desk and perhaps yoga classes too? I hope you get some relief soon

Hope everyone else is ok, Cherie how is the flu?

We are being very strict about not buying too much although I do keep getting distracted on our shopping trips when we are meant to be looking at buggys and carseats by looking at soft toys and pretty sleepsuits. This is also our first and I want everything and the best and the prettiest. Doesn't always fit the budget and the sensible advice we have been given. But my mum is buying up mother care in England, I am sure she thinks there are no baby products in NZ

Booked a new scan date today but they are quite booked up: so 7 Sept (almost 22 weeks) .... long wait!
