Han pretty much eats whatever we do now, maybe Mickey could too? Some of her favourites are mince and pasta (I boil the mince up with a Oxtail soup mix and lots of veges), fish fingers, those Aria farm meat chip things, or she just has a whole lots of veges roughly mashed together.

yea i've tried giving mikey what we eat but he still chokes and throws up if there's any lumps, it's so annoying. i need to buy one of those mini-blender things, what are they called? that way i could just blend up what we're having for him. at the moment i have to make him things that are easy to mash.

The choking thing will stick around until they learn to work through it. i hated it but just had to persevere!
To start with chunkier things I used to grate carrot and courgette and saute in a little bit of butter and garlic. It was soooo gooooood!
Han also loved to eat cooked spinach and brocolli. Weird child. I'd just give her a pile on her tray and she'd go nuts with it!

I used to make spinach and feta omlettes for Ella.. those were a favourite and she had one at least once a week. Can't remember much else of what she ate then!

Taine pretty much eats anything, but I often make him vege and fruit combos...carrots/parsnips/apple, Kumara/pear, he alsao (thanks to his brother) enjoys little chicken sausages. Jake tends to feed him much like you would a small puppy.

I used to give Maya rice boiled with silverbeet. I would chop the silverbeet up really fine and then boil them together so the iron etc. from the silverbeet was absorbed into the rice. She loved it, and when she was a bit older I'd add a bit of chopped chicken or something as well.
She won't touch silverbeet now tho - her Daddy told her it's yucky...

They pretty much just have boiled mashed/pureed stuff for the first couple of months (4-6 or 7 mths) but after that they can start having more interesting stuff. PLunket and Watties put out a handy fridge guide to what foods you can introduce when.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Here's one that Zac loves:
Braised Beef with Carrot and Potato
1 tbsp olive oil
1 75g small red onion chopped
1 clove garlic crushed
150g lean braising steak cut into pieces
2 tbsp flour
150g carrots peeled and slived
1 medium potato peeled and sliced
250g kumara peeled and chopped
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp chopped parsley
350ml unsalted chicken stock
Heat the oil in a heavy based pan or casserole dish and saute the onion for 4 minues until softened.
Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Toss the steak in the flour and add to the pan and saute until sealed. Add the carrots, potato, sweet potato, bay leaf and parsley and pour over the stock.
Bring to the boil, cover with a lid and simmer for 1 hour 45 minutes or until the meat is very tender.
Blend in a food processor with as much cooking liquid as necessary to make the right consistency for your child.

And another one - I use chicken breast. I've got a few more - will put on when I have time to type out.
Chicken with Leeks, carrots and peas - For babies 6 months +
1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
50g leeks, washed and chopped
1 large chicken thigh on the bone (about 175g) skinned and trimmed of fat
200g carrots peeled and chopped
250ml unsaled chicken stock
50g frozen peas
Heat the oild in a pan and saute the leeks for 2 mintues.
Add the chicken and saute for another 2 minutes until sealed.
Tip in the carrots and pour over the stock. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Add the peas and cook uncovered for 4 to 5 minues.
Remove the chicken with a slotted spoon and take the flesh off the bone.
Blend the chicken and vegetables in a food processor with as much cooking liquid as necessary to make the right consistency for your baby.

Stick mixers are around $12 at kmart or countdown.
I boil up any old veges i find and mix them up and then in a different pot boil up chopped up meat and then blend it up. I freeze it seperately so i can decide how much meat goes in. Jack loves it and its so easy.

For lunch or as a snack I make baby french toast.
30mls of breast milk or formula milk, one egg, mix it really well with a fork. Get two slices of white bread, cut the crusts off and soak in the mixture. Heat a little oil in frypan and fry the bread until golden on bothe sides (about 1-2 minutes each side?) Flynn loves it! I found he either likes really smooth foods or the complete opposite!! He loves finger food (won't eat any lumpy food unless mixed with a lot of custard!) so I cut a few veges into cubes like pumpkin, potato & kumera and boil. I also through in a stalk of brocoli and some cheerios. Then he just picks through what he wants while I eat my dinner in peace!!! He totally prefers to feed himself!

yeah, mikey loves feeding himself too but he'll only eat crackers. i try giving him other stuff like bits of fruit and veges and little bits of cheese and he just won't touch it but then if i give him a cracker he grabs it and stuffs it in his mouth. what a fussy baby!

I add chicken to this one as well:
Macaroni and Cauliflower Cheese
100g macaroni
400g cauliflower florets
200ml formula milk
20g plain flour
20g unsalted butter
freshly ground black pepper
2tbsp finely chopped parsley
100g cheddar cheese, grated
Bring a pan of water to the boil and cook the macaroni following the packet's instructions. Cook the cauliflower over the boiling water in a steamer until just tender. Drain and reserve.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Mix together the milk, flour and butter in a pan. Heat gently, stirring with a whisk until you have a smooth sauce. Season with pepper then add the herbs and half the cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted, then stir in the macaroni.
Arrange the cauliflower in an ovenproof dish. Pour over the macaroni cheese and sprinkle over the remaining cheese. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.

Ratatouille
2 small aubergines

1 medium red onion, peeled and chopped
1 small garlic clove, peeled and crushed
2 small red peppers, deseeded and chopped
400g tin chopped tomatoes
freshly ground black pepper
small sprig rosemary
tiny pasta to serve
Cut the aubergines and courgettes into small chunks
Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan and fry the onion until soft and golden (approx 5 mins). Add the garlic and aubergines and fry until soft, adding a litte more oil if necessary.
Add the red peppers and courgettes and cook over a low heat for 25 mins.
Add the tomatoes, black pepper and rosemary. cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 20mins, stirring occasionally.
Remove the rosemary stalk, then chop the ratatouille finely or whiz with a hand-held blender until smooth then pour over cooked pasta.
