The old times

Do you ever look over photos from your past and just wish you could go back there and have the same fun again.

Don't get me wrong I love that I have my children, but there are those times that I wish I could go out to the beach with my friends and party all night and crash somewhere with whoever was there.

I think i'm just missing DH even more now

I'm going to try and get in contact with some old friends and see if they can come over for a crazy night once my children are in bed.

Msn is good to keep in contact with friends you don't have so much in common with It's alot easier to pretend interest and ignore someone if they're talking about something that bores you to tears, or vice versa of course

I miss hanging out at Timezone, especially the DDR machine... grrr - Lower Hutt one is CRAP because people have jumped on it and desensitised it, and it is SO much fun, and such a great way to lose weight. I also miss having money to buy expensive clothes.

One good thing about kids - you can put them in their cot/time out corner if they're having an unstopable tantrum... friends not so much

I don't really. I spent a lot of teens and twenties drifting and on my own, but now I feel I have roots and a home, so I definitely prefer the here and now. I would love to revisit my travels, or living in London was pretty exciting but I'd much rather come home to the present and watch Coro St with Fay asleep upstairs and Neil asleep on the sofa with me.

Sometimes I get nostalgic and miss the old days, but for me they weren't exactly 'good old days' and the old me wasn't a very nice person so I usually get over it pretty quick.

I think that I'm different to most people because well I'm still a youngin, at only 22. Plus I never did the whole go out get drunk every night/weekend or whatever. I have been drunk once in my life. So when I remember the "good old days" it really was good and not just really stupid stuff

Same here - I'm 19 in march... but then I moved out of home a couple of months before I turned 16, and had just over a year to try out the "wild life" both at home in gis (well as wild as it gets up there) and down here in wellington before I met Mike and realised that there were much better things out there.

My fondest memory would have to be me at the movies with my best friend when I was 14-15. He was an exchange student from Germany and had been there for almost his full year, and we spent the entire movie holding hands... (omg shrek 2 LOL) neither of us ever did grow enough courage to tell each other we liked each other and he would have to be the most innocent 17 year old guy I've ever met. He wasn't too fond of translating rammstein lyrics for me - specially the ones about incest etc.

Actually most innocent guy i've met would have to be that 18 year old whose first kiss I stole just for the hell of it - he was a christian and was saving his first kiss for his future wife. I guess he failed the temptation test I actually felt kind of bad about it

EDIT: and by future wife I do mean some translucent idea of a person and not his fiance or something!

Yes I've been really thinking about the old days recently and what I wouldn't give to go back for one night (but one night only). I think for me its more because I finally feel like I'm getting a bit of my life back now the kids are a bit older and have found I don't have any close friends like I used to.

I know I wasn't the nicest person and had a bit of an addiction I never want to have to deal with again but before that times were fun and I had the best group of friends.

But in saying that I have never been happier than I am now I think I just need to find something I enjoy and make some friends lol

I don't really wish I could go back there- I wish I could have made the most of having no responsibility (oh and the sleep ins!!)! I had fun but it was such a shallow existence. I definitely prefer my life now

I love catching up with old friends and reminiscing though. Its nice to remember the good ol' times. Its when we try to relive them by having a night out that I realise my glasses are very rose coloured!

My DH and I were teenagers in our first flat when we met so most of the best times were him and I hanging out together. Sometimes we go through the old albums and reminisce together but I think I actually kept the best of the old days with me by marrying DH and we still have a roar.

I'd love to be fancy free again but instead of wishing to go back to the old days I wish for a big lotto win!

Not yet - but I only have one lovely bubba so we can still do what we want - turns out what we want is to hang out at home together with our bubba!
