Probably the dumbest question of all time, but how is Clomid pronounced?

Is it Clow-mid (rhymes with flow)
or
Clomm-mid (rhymes with from)

or a different way entirely?

Hi ladies, I have just been given Clomid and will start next cycle. Would be keen to hear any stories from any of you who have used clomid. How long have you been on it, did you concieve, any side effects, how long were your trying pre clomid, pre clomid could you just not concieve, or miscarry etc. I am keen to start clomid but have soo many questions. Looking forward to the replies.

Hi Bree,

I conceived on my first month of using clomid, but we unfortunately mcd at week 9   The pills made me feel a bit tired, a bit hormonal but nothing too bad. It was just all the blood tests that I didn't like!

Hi - well I took my last Clomid on Sunday night. Took at nights so no side effects at all - maybe a bit thirsty very dry mouth - but unsure if this is related or not. Dont feel any different at all...I have a blood test on Thursday CD10 - so I guess this tells me when I will ovulate and when to BD? Not really sure what happens next....
Sorry to hear of your mc Jakinty? Was this your first pregnancy? I've been trying for 1 year, 3 mc at 10 wks and 2 at 5 wks. This is my first cycle of clomid....
Are you now on clomid? How are things going for you?

Yup, it was my first pregnancy, trying since March, lap in June for endo, fell pregnant in July, found no heartbeat at scan at 9 weeks :(
have to wait until Jan to go back onto the clomid, don't even know if we want to try again at the moment. it's a bit of a rollercoaster!
in terms of BD, your specialist or doctor should have told you when to try???? we got a very specific plan!

Hi Dotty - good luck. I have just had my first cycle of Clomid 50mg, taken day 2-6. I took just before bed - no side effects at all. Went for blood test at CD10 and estrogen levels 2000. Next day had scan and 5 follicals so we were told not to try this month as too high risk of multiple births. So next month clomid again but reducing to 25mg. I am CD 22 now, unsure when/if I ovulated as I have irregular cycles! We've been trying for 1 year, first mc at 10 wks and 2 mc at 5 wks. Its hard, but fingers crossed for all of us ladies here for BFP. Keep me posted on how you go on the clomid. Is this yoru first?

Hi

I am currently preggers with a clomid baby, conceived on my second cycle - I was on clomid because about 3 months after coming off the pill my AF stopped, it appears the pill was what kept it going - therefore I wasn't ovulating. I had to have proveria to induce AF and then clomid, I took it at night and didn't have any real symptoms. All I had was day 21 bloods to see if it was working, which it didn't the first cycle and only just the second cycle - but thats all it took . Best of luck to all ladies on clomid

I have been ovulating in the past from day 16 to 20 somewhere! could it bring it forward that much? Many thanks

Hi ladies,

I am new to this site and it is really great to be able to read your stories and see other people are out there going through the same things.

My DH and I have been TTC for No.1 for 1 year now. I am 34 and he is 38. I am due to do a 2nd cycle of clomid next month, last month on my first cycle I had 3 follicles so was told to skip that month. Quite a frusturating moment. Eggs are there for the taking but can't do anything about it!

Been an up and down process this baby making. Spent so many years avoiding pregnancy but when we want it to happen mother nature is making us have a bit of a wait.

Good luck to you all

Hi Flipsta

Welcome to ohbaby!

Like you I have been ttc for 9 months now, 1st mc end of March so I 'should' be due soon! bugger it!
2nd MC a few months ago, so I'm with you! it sure is a rollercoaster after trying so hard not to get pregnant for years! I never thought it would be this hard!

At least we can just keep up the practising!

Hi flipsta, welcome. this site is great - helped me lots! Like you 1 year of TTC. i am 31, DH 32 on Fri. Had 3 confirmed mc this year and possible another 1 unconfirmed. Took first cycle clomid last month and 5 follicals - told to not try between CD10 and CD18 which we didnt. Prob is I dont know if I have or when I ovulated. Like you was a bit bummed I had eggs but not allowed to TTC. However CD29 now and no sign of AF although some PMS signs, whch can be BFP signs. Part of me (well all of me) is soo hoping for a BFP as just getting soo many BFN is really disheartning! Did they reduce your clomid for next cycle. Where are you at now... I wish you all the luck in the world.

Hey there,

Thanks for your stories

Wow 5 follicles! That is amazing. You are definitely responding well to the pills then. Dotty, sorry I am not completely clued up on all the acronyms what is MC?

Bree are you on a fully monitored cycle? I had to go get a blood test on Tuesday to confirm I did ovulate which I did so that is good news. Onto this month now!

DH and I are a little bit worried/excited cause we baby danced on the Saturday (Day 10) and then I had the scan done on Sunday (Day 11) and that is when we found the 3 follicles so if I ovulated that day or day after there is still a chance of getting pregnant. Will know next week when I am due for AF.   Bit scared of triplets...sheeesh!

I know what you mean about the BFN's Bree it is vey disappointing each month seeing that. Really tugs at the emotions.

I wish you both loads of luck too.
