***This is not for me - for a male friend***
I have a good male friend who I have been there and done that with about 7 years ago and now we are really good friends.
He had a really nice GF who all of the sudden broke it off with him a few weeks ago, he has only given me his side of the story so I don't actually know what happened. He is finally over her and went out last night to have some fun.
He met this girl and she gave him her phone number and said call me.
So this morning he sent me a txt telling me what happened and that he got a number and was going to call her today. I told him that if he did that he would be seen as overkeen and he might scare her off.
What do you think he should do?? and what does your DP think as well??

I think you should let him decide, he was the one that met her so should have a "feeling" about whether or not he'd want to take it further.
Craig said he should go for it.

DH says "It depends how hot she is"
He then went on to say "It depends on the individual. If he really felt he had a connection, he should call, what's he got to lose?"
I say go for it...
You never know unless you give it a go

depends when he got her phone number ... I say for him to ring her - it doesn't have to be a life long committment maybe a bit of fun or someone to hang with - get him back in the dating game.
I have met a guy saturday night and he rung me sunday afternoon - keen yup - but still with him and married

I think most girls prefer a phone call sooner rather than later don't they? I know I would have anyway.
If he likes her, then he should call her.

Yep same as Ann,...If I met a guy in the wekend,..and didnt hear from him til Wed, and I liked him,...I would have spent all that time thinking that I had got it all wrong/what was wrong with me/ etc etc,...and would be over it by Wed!
I would want a ph call by Mon night!

Ditto, I would have lost interest and definetly not be interested in playing what I see as games!

Yeah I agree, if he's interested he should let her know.
What's the point of waiting and risking her losing interest?

Man if I guy ever rung me before wednesday I wouldn't make a date, no thanks too clingy. I suupose it depends what hes after, if he wants to get married next week then ring her, if he wants something casual/slow I'd wait til weds.

I use to do the (very) casual thing and even if that was what I was looking for I would still get annoyed that they waited that long to call

I'd go with Monday night - but is it too late for that? LOL! But from there why doesn't he go ahead and invite her to some kind of group thing next weekend so it's not a pressure-full date to start with. (They don't know each other at all, right?) So maybe a few friends are going out for drinks or... I dunno, whatever he does for fun!

I *think* he is going to send her a txt tonight to see what she wants to do this weekend. I am going out with him on Saturday night after I have been at my friends 40th, he wants me there to scare away the *psycho's* as he put it.
