Topic: Which Bank??? Posted: 01 January 2009 at 9:57am |
We are with Kiwibank & ASB but are looking at putting all accounts with one bank that possibly has low fees and good interest for savings accounts.
Which bank are you and your kids with??

Kiwibank for everything. We were with national about 4 years ago and they were shocking. Always had really good service off of kiwibank and they always seem to have the best rates for mortgages and good savings rates as well. We also have a credit card with them but I think there rate for that is not one of the cheapest, but we only use it for internet purchases and pay off before any interest is put on so it doesn't matter.

We switched back to National Bank a few weeks ago from Kiwibank and ASB. Nat offered us an account and interest deal that KB couldn't do.

Bnz have good accounts with total money (you can get up to 7% on your accounts and if you have a homeloan can make some of your homeloan interest fee) you get up to 10 accounts for a flat fee of $10 a month... which is pretty damn good

We just swapped from National Bank to Kiwibank not too long ago... and personally I think the services and fees are way better for us!

We were and are still with ASB - For all our accounts. Havent had any problems with them and their customer servivce is awesome! We will hopefully stay with them when we get back to NZ to have a mortgage through them too.

Westpac. I have no opinion on the subject. We don't have a mortgage or any debt so the banks are pretty much of a muchness to me.

We're with ASB, and I'm happy. They've made one stuff-up that I can remember, and were so great about fixing it that I was very impressed.
Isn't it interesting what a difference customer service makes... I'm personally of the belief that there's not really all that much difference between the main banks, but we had one incident of really shoddy service at ANZ and it really put me off. (That's just a gut reaction, though - I really am aware that one person having a bad day isn't a fair basis to write a whole company off!!!)

Just to add, I spoke with BNZ this morning as we found out we had a $110 transaction charge on an account. When I spoke to them they said they would reverse it after I had explained what we are using the account for and then changed the account to a better one for us over the phone. Big ups to them.

We are with Westpac for our mortgage etc - they offer armed forces benefits. But their service sucks. I used to be with PSIS and found them good, I had term deposit and cheque account with them.
DH is with ASB we'll probably switch to them when we re-fix our mortgage.
