I have never been able to put my girl (3months) down for sleep after 4pm. I talked to plunket about it and the nurse seemed to think it was reasonably normal as they like to begin cluster feeding. SO we just have lots of small feeds, cuddles and 5 minutes naps until bed time which is between 7-8pm-ish.
My 10 week old can only manage 30mins up so she'd be back in bed at 4.45 latest for a final nap. At that time of the day she just does a 45min nap so I start the bedtime routine when she wakes and she is down for the night between 6 and 7.
My babe is 11 weeks old and I let her take the lead, she dozes on and off in short bursts from 5pm onwards and if I'm not feeding her I put her in a sling and just carry on - that way if she wants to sleep she can sleep. Bedtime is about 9pm with a dreamfeed around 10:30pm, but this too can vary - babies at this age can and will change things often and according to their needs. Nothing wrong with going with the flow to meet those needs, do what works and causes you and your boy the least stress.

With my DD even as she got older I still stuck with the late afternoon nap and would sometimes have to wake her after 45 minutes (which was so hard considering at all other naps she hardly slept that long and I felt so mean waking her) but she always went down so well at 7pm and slept right through till 7am. This was following the Baby Whisperer EASY routine.
