Maybe it wasn't a plum tree.... that's what they told us it was but it is currently a tree with chopped off branches of varying lengths and no foliage whatsoever, it could be anything.
I know that is the problem isn't it, you want trees big enough to screen them out and you want it now, not thinking about how huge they'll be later. It doesn't help that I'm very impatient.
We've tried to stick to stuff that won't get too big, large shrubs or small trees apart from the Kowhai I planted. That's closer to my neighbours house than mine though and shouldn't cause any problems until long after I've left
