I don't want to get it, but my Mum works at Auckland Hospital so she could easily pass it on to me even if she doesn't get it her self. I will wait till 14 wks before getting the jab though, just to be on the safe side.

I have never had the flu jab before...I work at the airport dealing with international travelers so never saw the point but when I confirmed my pregnancy my GP suggested I get because it has the swine flu vaccine this year...

I did get in my first trimester, at about 7 weeks I think, none of the info from the doctors office said not to so until reading your posts just now did know about waiting until the 2nd trimester...

Sandie, you can get it in the first trimester, I did as well. If we couldnt then medical professionals wouldnt allow us to, so dont worry. It was recommended to me to get it in the first trimester as I would be exposed to it early on.

thanks melissa..I wasnt too worried, my doc is very on to it when it comes to pregnancy related things...just odd only hearing about that now...

I didn't have it... was a conscious decision as I felt it hadn't been tested enough on pregnant ladies.

DH had it though, so felt reasonably happy that I had some protection that way. I ended up having a cold while I was pregnant but that was all.
