AnnC I have been wondering if that is why I feel bigger this time too. I lost a lot of weight just before #2 but "found" it again after her, plus a bit extra. So at conception with this one I had +8kg and that's probably the only reason it feels bigger

Glad the scan went well...
After the 20 week scan, are you going to tell people whether you've seen a hotdog or hamburger (ah, I still smile at that phrase - thanks whoever made it up!) or keep it to yourselves? I'll know whether or not I can grill you about it in a few weeks if you're happy to tell, y'see! I hope you're not worrying about feeling bigger this time round - you look great and you're eating so well (for your spesh lightweight circumstances!)!

ah yeah I mean I accept it needs to happen - if it gets me a healthy little girl at the end of the day then bring on the large butt I say, but I do have my days when I cringe if I catch a glance of myself in the mirror...!

I know what you mean. I only realise how big I am when I see pictures of myself. The rest of the time I ignore the mirror and live blissfully unaware

I think the "acceptable" *snort* weight gain varies depending on what you read/who you talk to etc....but yeah I've read up to 15kg is still healthy...that said I've stacked on another kg over the last 2 days. Maybe I shouldn't have had all that pizza last night but it was the inlaws shout!

Ahhh,..found what I was looking for! In the Littlies Pregnancy Guide mag it has a guide to recommended weight gain depending on pre-preg BMI.
Low ( BMI less than 19.8)- 12.5-18kgs
Normal (BMI 19.8 to 26 ) - 11.5- 16kg
High (BMI 26-29)- 7.0-11.5kg
My BMI was 20.8 so I take that as meaning up to 18 kgs is ok! Hmmm,..what shall I have for afternoon tea?!

I ignore what my pre-preg BMI was... some nasty BMI-measuring machine at an airport (OK I was really bored waiting for my flight once!) told me bad, bad things and since then I've decided to avoid such evil machines! I'm not too much into the guidelines and recommendations for how much weight we 'should' be putting on... it just puts unnecessary pressure on us. My MIL is tiny after 8 babies, and she rekons she put on about 20kg with each pregnancy!! Not an ounce of fat on the woman now. In my side of the family, we start off 'stockier' and put on a little less, but seem to like to keep it!

oohh Paws have you tried the milo cereal bars? I ate a whole box in a sitting they were the best thing I have ever tasted. Since then I have decided that they are too dangerous to buy by the box so I just get the odd one at teh gas station - oooohhh heaven in a wrapper they are....!

ummmm milo cereal bars!!! I've given myself a new rule now - gotta eat all my healthy food first before I eat any yummies. Not sure if thats good or not as I just end up eating more! I am building up my energy supplies for the birth, because they say that you don't want to eat and if its a long labour thats a long time without food...... thats my theory anyway and I'm sticking with it!
