Pointers for turning a breech baby?

My girlfriend got told by her midwife to lie on the floor with her hips up higher than the rest...On pillows. Then get Dad or someone else to go down by your Bum and sing songs or talk...Apparently they like music and sound so they try get closer and turn somehow!! Eeek give me the willies thinking about it!

jack was breech at 34wks and i was told to get down on all fours and rock back and forth, lean over a swiss ball and rock, don't sit with legs crossed ummmmm i'm sure there were a few other things too that i can't think of right now.
have you asked your midwife for tips on turning??

I was told to get on all floors...bum up and roll back and forth....try that!!! Iknow it sound funny and looks funny but it worked for me.

I had this problem too. I was told to lie on my back with my hips up in the air on pillows, or else kneel down with your elbows resting on the floor & bum in the air. Only drawback is you're meant to do it for about 15 minutes at a time twice a day & it gets bloody uncomfortable. My midwife also got me to try pulsatilla (a homeopathic remedy) & acupuncture. In the end none of it worked for me & I ended up having an ECV where they manually turned my baby from outside my tummy. Good luck!

i had that done too nic (ECV) but unfortunately it didn't work. they push on your tum and try to turn baby around that way. they think i had a short cord and that's why jack didn't turn.

My midwife never said anything to me about scans etc she just said she hopes for my sake that the baby turns and engages in the next few weeks

my midwife told me to not sit on a couch, if i was relaxing at night i should sit straddling a chair, an office chair is great, so the back is pressing on your tummy. it makes it more comfortable for the baby to go the way it is supposed to when you sit that way. i used to sit at the table and do jigsaw puzzles.

Alex was in a different position every time I went to see the doctor so at 36 weeks I had to have a scan. We didn't have the 3D scan option but I was very impressed with the scan at 36 weeks.....very clear - you could even see all the hair. When it came to birth time Alex was sideways and luckily the contractions pushed him down so all was fine.
