sure
Crunch Cake recipe:
125g butter
125g icing sugar
4T golden syrup
4T cocoa
190g cornflakes
one large bottle of cream, whipped
berries
Heat everything except the cornflakes in a large pot until it's all melted together and bubbling. take off the heat and add cornflakes. mix it all together until the cornflakes are well coated with the sauce. line a cake tin with baking paper and press half the mixture into it. cover with more baking paper and press the rest of the mix on top (the baking paper separates the layers and makes it easy to take them out).
put it in the fridge until it is cold and set. take out one layer and put it on a plate, cover with whipped cream and add berries (i like LOTS of berries, it cuts through the sweetness of the chocolate a bit).
put the other layer on top and top with the rest of the whipped cream and berries.

We were going to get one with CZ's in it, but found one of the stores had 50% off so ended with a diamond for the same price, but I dont think anyone would actually notice whether they were CZ's or diamonds, (I wouldnt anyway!).

HUGE congratulations to you two!! I can't believe this bypassed me, I thought I'd been watching so closely
We too were tossing up diamonds or not when we got engaged (were real young on one stink income). And we also found a 50% off sale, so I got diamonds for a fab price and that doesn't make me freak about anything going wrong with it or losing it or anything

I got sapphires, I always liked them more than diamonds, and like has been said, who cares about tradition? My sister has a lovely (expensive!) diamond ring, though, and it is lovely. Wouldn't trade it for mine though

Hmm that cake looks yummy!!!
re: your ring, I agree go with something you love, you will be wearing it for the rest of your life and you'll keep looking at it long after everyone else has had a look.
For me, I love diamonds, so went with something fairly traditional and like a couple of ladies have mentioned, we bought it on boxing day, so was about 1/2 the price

Get CZ if that it what you love and are happy with, who cares what is apparently "traditional". You don't even have to get CZ if you're not to fussed on the diamond look. There are plenty of other lovely semi precious stones that make stunning rings and are more affordable. Just bear in mind the metal that the ring is made of because you'll need to have the same metal in your wedding band. I.e. a silver ring next to a gold ring isn't a good idea as they rub together a lot.

i love the look of diamonds but i don't like the ethical dilemma behind maybe getting a conflict diamond. i'd hate to think that people died for my ring. i'm just not wanting to be a supporter of the diamond trade so i thought CZ had the look, the better price and no bad feelings to go with it

Well then I think that CZ is a great idea.
