Oh, you poor poor thing. What a miserable little rat. People like that just make me so mad.

I hope so badly that you get it all sorted and that you get your money back quick-smart.

Firstly that suxs...

secondly notall banks have a $10000 limit on eftpos - only westpac does, most trading banks are around the $3000 and tsb is $800... that aside it was more for purchases so hopefully they can find the store it was used at and check their security footage to see who used it (the bank should be able to give time and date and where.. but the police will be the only ones who can get that footage off the store)

Hope they catch him....

Thats horrendous! How did they manage to do it though - did they take your card, or did they copy down the number or what???

The bank should certainly be able to help you. I had a dodgy experience with a stolen credit card once and they fixed it all quite quickly.

Good luck.

That is horrible. I hope the fraud team was able to help you.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

That is absolutely horrible! You can get c/c numbers all sorts of ways and then go on sprees with retailers/hotels that will accept purchases without the card being present. There are some nasty and selfish people out there.

I work in a hotel and we have been burnt in the past by people using their c/c number over the phone to pay for their bill (stolen of course!) however we now only will put through a transaction when the card & cardholder is present. Each time a transaction went through that was dodgy, we had to give the money back so there should be good news for you! The only problem is we had about 10 working days to come back with any proof that the cardholder was present and if we didn't they take the money straight out, so you might have to wait a few weeks

Glad to hear that you are so positive about not needing money for Christmas - you are absolutely right
