In this book I read it says that 3rd births are often longer than 2nd but faster than firsts there was a reason but I can't remember it but it seemed to make sense at the time so hopefully that happens for you. |
I read that somewhere too, maybe in Kathy Fray's book? I can't remember. I've read so many pregnancy and birth books they all kind of meld into one

Janine the biggest prob I've heard with 3rd timers is the niggly pre-labours (I had mine for a month before Krystiana was born/due).

Argh, I had contractions from 33-ish weeks with the gremlins too. Was kinda good tho coz I had so many 'practise' contractions that the real thing didn't seem as scary.

LOL I had 10 days of pre-labour with Xavier, but at least that was less than the 15 days I had with Josiah!

yeah i had false labour 5 days before i had ayja - exactly6 the same time at night and all - lol must have been natures way of making me get in practise run for the real thing - also meant that my sister moved her bus ticket to get here.. which she did, on the day Ayja was born, lol, i rung her early in the morning before she got on the bus to tell her ayja was already here.
ick, the whole thought of labour just makes me feel gross though. I didn't feel this way with the girls.

Janine now that you're working in neo's and hear stories all the time - and not necessarily the best ones - you're probably working yourself up! When you're in labour you know what to do, you've done it twice already, you can do it again! Relax, leave the labour side of things til 35+ weeks, and then get a good rapport and birth plan with your mw. Stressing about it now ain't helping lol

Absolutely! In some cases knowledge is power, in others it's just good ole paranoia!
I've read so much in my research for OHbaby! and being pregnant with twins made me want to research *everything* I possibly could on twins, and combined with having just had a miscarriage I became super-stressed and anxious.
I remember my midwife telling me one thing or another and me saying "but I was reading..." and she cut me off and said "well don't!"
And in the end we had a better outcome than even the midwife and obstetrician could have predicted - and they're supposed to be the experts!
You'll be fine girl! Your body knows what it's doing!
