Schools ask to see the child's immunisation cert (in the well child book) and I think if they are not fully immunised then they have to sign something - Is that right miss?? Being a teacher (and I think a head teacher) do you know what schools require.

Like you Toni, I waited until Ella was well to get all immunisations.. which sometimes meant having to delay them a few weeks if she had a cold.
I know that creche's ask to see the immunisation cert.. so maybe schools do too.

they ask at Kindy as well. From memory and I could be wrong butI think it means if there is an outbreak of a certain disease those children can be sent home as they are unprotected from it.

Vick, yep that's what I was told when I had my kids enrolled at preschool.
As for the Norweigans using the vaccine only for a short time, I read that that was because the epidemic settled very soon after that. But now they are testing most of those people, now as young adults, for chronic fatigue.
The ACC claims... yea that's not many and they didn't sound too serious.

i got all 4 menzb jabs for mikey and i'm happy with my decision. when i was in school, my friends big sister died of meningitis and the whole family and most of the school was devastated.
i thought about the possible side effects and decided to get him immunised after thinking how i would never forgive myself if i chose not to and he died because of it.
it is a personal choice though and i would never judge someone for choosing not to immunise.

I know daycares ask for the cert as well as I have had to provide it to Andrew's daycare 3 times now (as they update their records every year). I just remember my mum saying something to me about schools wanting the cert for some reason but can't remember now.

Like I posted under July Mummys thread, Caitlin had another reaction to her jabs (a mild one tho).
So next lot of jabs will be done under Hospital day stay, just in case.
The specialist said that people who have any reaction to the jabs would be even more sick if they got the actual illness, hence our decision to continue to immunise (hope my nerves hold out tho! )

Poor Caitlin and poor Mum and Dad that must be so scary. It's a good thing you did immunise her then.

Schools require he immunisation certificate for on file, and parents do sign something if you choose not to immunise. It is just for those very few times there is a break out of a communicable disease.
Toni, I hope Caitlin's reaction with the second shot isn't too bad - it must be hard going through it. We had 2 kids react to the first shots (luckily both were done at the docotrs rather than at school as that would ahve been scary!) I think only one went on to complete the course through the hospital.

Maya's had all her MenzB jabs, the disease is worse than the immunisation etc. etc. But I think I will wait until the twins are a bit older to give them theirs.
Toni - Maya had a nasty reaction to her 15 mth MMR so we have to do the hospital thing next time round too. It's scary, but better to be in controlled surroundings.
