I have a HUGE bag of girls baby clothes, im talking a black large rubbish bag bursting at the top fill and i want to like donate it somewhere but where? I have twice dropped clothes off to a clothing bin to find a month later they are still there and strewn everywhere so i wont do that anymore.

I also have to plastic bags of rattles and baby toys.

Where in christchurch can i drop these where people who really need them can have them?

Women's refuge? Refugee centre?

I know our local refugee centre is in need of warm clothes at the moment.

The Christchurch City Mission is in town and you can just rock up there and drop the stuff off. When I've done that with toys etc they're pretty stoked. And then it goes to all families in need as often the women's refuge stuff only goes to women that seek help, whereas there are a lot of families that use the city mission who aren't going through breakups etc, just needy. (Not that it matters, just saying that).

The linwood salvation army take donations but they sell it on so not sure if you would want to do that.

I emailed Derek at Womens Refuge about 3 months ago but they said they had enough stuff at the time but said to try Pregnancy Help. I haven't gotten around to it yet and I'm not sure of the contact details but any of the places that others have mentioned would be good.

I drop a lot of stuff off to the Glen Innes Plunket as its a lower socio area. They are always greatful and tell me there are a lot of people without the basics.

Refuge is a great idea too. A lot of women and children leave with only the clothes on their backs.

Pregnancy Help would be a good place to drop them off, or as emz said the City Mission is another good place.

Or you could donate them to your local plunket who would be able to donate to mums and bubs they see in need.

I have mums from other areas donate to my area of work (very poor area) and I give them to the families in need. I have also given loads of Alize stuff away too as is nicer to give to the need I see than the clothing bins.
