What i didn't know u have to take the mini pill within an hour i take mine when i remember ranging from 4pm to 11pm oops i better set a time for it.
Back to the question i bleed at 26 weeks and they couldn't find anything and my midwife said it was ok for sex. I lied to DP and said none for a while but i think he got it out of me at about 30 weeks it just caused heaps of BH.
Jax you animal i waited til 8 weeks and even then i tried to put it off. I had stitches 2 and it doesn't hurt as much as i was expecting use lots of lube and put a pillow under your bum to get a good angle. My sex drive has only just come back and sex is finally good woohoo.

Jax, I SO could've written your post!! Man, did my sex drive completely disappear when pregnant, but damn it's come back almost straight away. Although I did jump with excitement when the doc said at our 6 week check that we'd talk contraception. Boy was I glad to hear that word!
I think I can only have the mini pill due to some meds I'm on but we'll see what doc says in a few weeks time.

LOL Well, what can I say, I adore my hubby and am just happy to have the energy to want to do it again LOL Am going to hopefully get into it before six weeks, but might wait - we'll see. Contraception for us will be relatively simple, am not a pill girl (health issues), so condoms ahoy

Hmmm, contraception.... will have to think about that - I am soooo not doing this again any time soon! I was thinking about a tubal ligation when the babies are born, but have since been convinced to hold off a while on that one. So it's either going to be no loving for Willie, or we will have to agree on something - he refuses to use condoms.
As for the bleeding, there's been no relations for us since day one just about, I've been too sick and tired to even be interested, and after my third lot of bleeding last week I am not feeling terribly inspired to start now.

I know how you feel Emma, I was the same after my bleedings.....man did that freak me out. But by the end of my pregnancy I wanted to jump my hubby...and then hubby was feeling a bit ...."oh what if I hurt the baby?".......Arrrgggg
I take my mini pill with in 3 hours (thats what it says in the pack) and I am also fully breastfeeding....so I guess I am safe but still better be careful, Huh?
I was thinking that if my next is a boy then I will get my tubes tied or his......he he ha ha

The not fertile while breastfeeding thing is so not true! I have got preg 3 times while feeding an under 1-year-old It doesn't stop your periods either (another myth). I get about 2-4 months break and that's it.

I think I a leaning towards an IUD after this pregnancy, I am almost positive that this bub will be the last but am not quite ready to take permanent measures just in case I change my mind. Andy is geared towards "The Snip". First time round I went on the mini-pill (but as Quinn was a mini-pill bub I wasn't so keen)... that only lasted a short time tho cause after a few months of waking every night four hourly we used the "i would rather sleep than have sex" method.
And the sex thing, there was no way I was waiting for six weeks but I was too shy to mention this to my midwife (cause she would tell my mum and there are some things I don't need my mum knowing). So we just did it...

I'm thinking about an IUD too Anna. I'm on the injection at the moment but the bleeding hasn't settled down at all. I've been bleeding (lightly) for the last 12 days or so and before that it was week on week off. Arghhhh.
Doctor wants me to give it another 3 months but it's driving me nuts. (As well as costing me a fortune in tampons etc!)

Yeah the IUD looks appealing to me right now too. I was thinking about the mirena.
I just can't be bothered with the pill anymore, after one pregnancy on it I haven't felt very safe.
I think compared to the monthly cost of tampons etc the cost of getting an IUD is reasonable. (assuming the bleeding stops )
Now I just have to convince Hubby!

I don't think the IUD does stop the bleeding... ?
Maybe the Mirena one does... I know it is used for those with heavy periods so maybe.
The normal one can cause heavier periods, I think.

It's only with some people... not everyone. Just like the injection makes some people put on weight... Yeah, no form of contraception is ideal.... but then neither is getting pregnant again is it?? - that's what I have to keep telling myself!

I have no more sex drive with this pregnancy- and now I'm doubting having sex ever again hahahaha. I've just had enough and don't want to risk getting pregnant again... But ask me in a few months / year if I want another baby and I'll most likely say yup... then regret it again half way through the pregnancy.

Lol, that's generally the way of it Stevie!
I think for most people the Mirena does stop you getting periods after some initial heavy bleeding.
Mind you, my doctor told me the same thing about the pill I was on and my periods didn't change at all, so I guess there's no guarantee with anything...

I had an IUD for about 18months..but I kept getting infections and had a funny odd smell which when the IUD was removed all stopped at once..In fact pretty much the day it came out!! I also had very heavy periods.
The Doc said people can get the "upleasant odour" because there is something foreign up there lapping up all the secretions and smells and stuff! That was one with the coil. Not the Mirena one you are talking about tho. So it may have changed.
I would not have a clue what we will do. Paige was conceived on the PILL. This one was conceived because we were practicing SAFE SEX (well we were fairly sure we were) to let my body have a break from the pill etc and I hate condoms.
And I am pretty dam sure Mark will not have a snip and I dont think I would want my tubes done really.
