That was a really big plum tree!!!
I'll ask DH about it when he gets home tonight, and see if he has any ideas for replacment trees, is there houses etc quite close to where the trees need to be planted? Just if so you dont want anything that gets too big otherwise in five years you are going to have the arborist returning to take them down without removing your house!!! You wouldnt believe the number of people that plant trees that are going to be absolutely massive a metre away from their house then wonder why the tree is getting so big!!!! |

Maybe it wasn't a plum tree.... that's what they told us it was but it is currently a tree with chopped off branches of varying lengths and no foliage whatsoever, it could be anything.
I know that is the problem isn't it, you want trees big enough to screen them out and you want it now, not thinking about how huge they'll be later. It doesn't help that I'm very impatient. We've tried to stick to stuff that won't get too big, large shrubs or small trees apart from the Kowhai I planted. That's closer to my neighbours house than mine though and shouldn't cause any problems until long after I've left
