How long ago did you give birth??? I think it can be different for everybody. Just depends on your body. I stopped bleeding after two weeks and they say it takes 4-6 weeks.

I thought the sizes (reg & super) refer to the flow of your period whether it is really heavy or lighter not the size of your fufu. I may be wrong here but that is what i thought.

Yep it does refer to your flow, and my flow is normal not heavy. The tampon itself just feels small.....I gave birth 9 weeks ago and stopped bleeding two weeks after and this is my first period since then....

Your baby looks so alret very cute.....

you have to remember things were probably a little stretched out and possibly won't have completely fallen back into place again yet.. (am sorry to say they never completely do) plus the muscles can feel a bit slack and numb too.. it probably is perfectly fine but since your muscles are numbish and still recouping it will feel a bit weird... try some pelvic floor exercises to try and build it back up over time but other than that, i am not sure.. It took forever for me to even try using tampons again after having my girls.. and i now prefer not to use then cos it's still too uncomfy where i was stitched.. (over 3 years ago!!) despite being a stictly "i hate pads" kinda chick before. lol

I had the same thing after Ella. It took me about 3 periods before I could comfortably use tampons again. (also had stitches). They didn't feel right and no matter how correctly I inserted them I still seemed to bleed around them.
I second the pelvic floor idea, thats what made the difference for me!

Did you know it takes 2 years for your body to get back to normal after having a baby? And your ribs never move back to where they were. Crazy aye!

i was actually going to start a thread to ask about something similar. kind of the opposite actually. mikeys 10 months old now and i still haven't got my period, even though he's eating 3 solid meals and snacks and only having milk feeds before he goes to sleep.

deez-i've also heard that it takes years for your body to get back to normal after giving birth. some things never go back the way they were.

I was the same, it took me ages to be brave enough to try tampons and when I finally did they didn't feel right and so I pretty much only used them when I had to, and used pads instead.

Not looking forward to that again - about the only good thing about being preg is no period! (And the baby/ies at the end of course)

I was like that too Deez, even tho Hannah was fully breastfeed I got my first period back at 6 weeks! Had only stopped bleeding about two weeks before that...

Get into your pelvic floor exercises like Janine said - if you tend to forget, try and do a set of 10 after every time you've been to the tiolet. Start holding for 2 secs and try to gradually increase a second at a time. Try not to squeeze your butt at the same time, just the muscles you would if you were trying to stop going wees. But dont actually do that (stopping mid-wees) as its not recommended anymore. Phew... taking off my physio hat now

Oh, I feel a bit more normal now! I bled until the beginning of Sept, then on the 5th I seemed to get a period, although it then stopped, then started, then stopped. Then yesterday & today it seems to have returned more so - weird, but after reading these posts I feel a bit better - anyone else had this strange kinda thing happen?

The average for a bf mum is 13 months and 9 months for a bottle mum. I got mine back at 6 weeks I found using applicators helped to get back into the swing of things
