I don't think I even want to admit how long we waited! But then again when we got into bed sleep won out over sex every time!

I know she was quite young tho. I've heard stories about people doing it in the hospital and leaving the hospital pregnant again.

With Kiya: 3 years (no, that is not a typo Long story, but the relevant part is her bio father dumped me, and she was nearly 3 when I married my DH)
With Josiah: 10 days
With Xavier: 7 days
Straight-forward deliveries with no stitches after having either of the boys.

there was a girl at bethany (where i lived when i was pregnant and for a month after) that had sex the night she had her baby, each to their own i guess,i couldnt have done it,i would have been too scared of how much it would hurt, or that my stiches would burst-i mean in the first 3 days i was too scared to go "number 2s" on the toilet...

my step-mums sis did it in the hospital and ended preggers with number 4 I think (whenever i go over there are so many kids, i have no idea whose are whose).
for us, i really really don't remember. i think Lew had to wait til we got back to japan with Jake - so at least six weeks
as for taine - i believe there was a vow of never again - was super paranoid about getting preggers again - didn't help with midwife leaving after three weeks check and saying "see you next year" (friend of my nanas so kinda fmaily friendish).

About 7 weeks or so with #1, and it HURT like holy shed (lotsa grazing still not healed) and hurt for about 7 months or so sfter and about 5 weeks with #2, bleeding stopped about 2 weeks after and I wasn't sore at all after about a week, but I had tonnes more stitches and I was waaaaaaaay too tired to even think about it. Still feel too tired and not into it, lol!!!

I actually really cant remember at all. I know I bled for 6 weeks and after that my freaking period showed up after a week. So at least a minumum of 8 weeks. But we moved when she was like 7 weeks old. And I cant remember the first month of anything in the new place. As his sister was there and then my dad. So I think this is close to freaking 12 weeks. Poor hubby. The sucker must seriously love me hey?

After my 1st I was sooo sore but as soon as I got home 4days after birth the bio father(my ex) forced me to and SH*T DID IT HURT!!!!
After my second DH and I waited about two weeks I think, just until the bleeding stopped, I wasn't sore at all, he was more worried about hurting me than I was!
I remember the doc said at the 6 week check that I was now fine to have sex, I thought opps was I not meant to?

SOME OF THE COMMENTS REALLY CRACK ME UP...
my ex partner father of my newborn son has been trying to get back in my good graces and wants to try and make a go of being a couple again,
most of my pregnancy he wasnt around or back and forward now he can't go a day without seeing his son,he cryed one day after i told him he had to leave.
now he was over friday night and had a couple with my brother and really wanted to do it,i can't bring myself to having sex although he is the love of my life and i can picture marrying him sometime in the future..this whole sex topic after giving birth really freaks me out..lol..

I'll be honest we have only done it once after Caprece and it was nothing special. I never thought I would say this but I would way rather sleep than have sex. Tell him your not allowed to until 8 weeks or something.

it must be different though if you've had a c/s to a normal delivery as the exits are different...if you know what i mean?
more replies are welcome though.. |
It was five days for us but I had a straight forward delivery, no stitches or anything.

I admit sometimes I am thinking I could be sleeping now!!!
cmaine, if you are worried about it it is definately not time to do it yet. Make sure you wait until you are comfortable and if you don't think that will be for a while do what rachandjack said and tell him you are not allowed until 8 weeks or your 6 week check up or something, men are clueless about all womeny stuff and probably wouldn't question it.

Well DS was fairly small (6 lb 10 oz) and not my first child so I felt up to it much sooner than with DD (about six weeks I think). We used plenty of lubricant and took it easy. It was fine because it was gentle. I certainly couldn't have handled anything too passionate.
