Nineteen years ago, I was born early.
Really early – like 16 weeks early. At one point I weighed just 500g, and my feet were smaller than my mum’s thumb.
Mum and dad were so happy to see me - it had already been a journey - but along with all that love was a whole lot of worry.
Because it wasn’t just my feet that were tiny - everything was. My veins were almost too small to be found, my skin was so fragile my parents were scared they might hurt me, and my lungs - they were tiny too.
I spent four long, anxious weeks on a ventilator before mum could have her first cuddle with me. And it would be 132 days before I got to go home.
My dad says they were the longest days of their lives.
While the incredible doctors and nurses looked after me, it was the wonderful Little Miracles Trust that looked after all of us. From providing nappies that would fit my tiny body, to supporting my parents on their premature baby journey - the love and support from the Little Miracles Trust made a really big difference.
Little sure can be powerful.

Woolworths is helping The Little Miracles Trust to support Kiwi families like Charlotte’s. Every time selected baby products are purchased between the 5th of May and the 1st of June, five cents goes to The Little Miracles Trust.
