Natural Bug Spray
Natural bug spray for the garden
Finely chop about five cloves of garlic, and put in a bowl with enough water to cover them. Add a tablespoon of chilli powder, or two chillis finely diced. Leave for 24-48 hours. Strain into a spray bottle, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid, and top up with 1litre of water.
This will deter bugs, especially beetles and slugs. You can replace the chilli with any other strong smelling herb, such as basil, mint, sage, etc, but chilli seems to be pretty effective.
Planting marigolds around your garden will also deter bugs, and you can use add the flowers to your bug spray too.
